Architected and built Touch Up, a beauty-tech marketplace connecting customers with verified makeup artists, as a Turborepo monorepo spanning a buyer/artist/admin web app, a REST + WebSocket backend, and a dedicated notification worker service. Designed the end-to-end payments system (Razorpay integration: order creation, webhook-driven capture, partial refunds, and artist payout splitting) with idempotent order creation, row-level locking (FOR UPDATE) to prevent double-processing, and HMAC-verified webhooks as the sole trust boundary for a public, unauthenticated endpoint. Built a CI/CD pipeline on GitHub Actions (lint, typecheck, unit + integration tests against real Postgres, and k6 load-testing scenarios) gated behind a single required status check, with deploy workflows that only trigger after CI succeeds on the target branch — plus local Husky pre-commit/pre-push hooks enforcing the same bar before code ever reaches CI. Implemented real-time chat and a multi-channel notification system (native WebSockets with upgrade-time auth for chat; a BullMQ/Redis-queued pipeline for email, SMS, WhatsApp, and in-app notifications), decoupled into its own worker process so slow vendor calls never block the main API. Deployed the application using Docker on a VPS, with a self-hosted database and frontend hosted on Cloudflare, incorporating Cloudflare Captcha for enhanced security.
